We are working towards implementing our DeBo Digital Business Collaboration Platform for the development of smallholder dairy farms. In this project, we intend to start a provision of a heifer, ready to bear a calf for a 1,000 strong smallholder farmers with an end-to-end coordination and management of services to enable achieve our daily milk production targets of 25,000 litres to the market. The DeBo platform is a state-of-the-art system that enables orchestrate all operations in the project, providing a detailed planning, tracking and smooth operation between primary stakeholders and support entities in a multi-stakeholder environment.
The DeBo Platform is designed to capture the operational details of organizing household level businesses as follows:
- Create a pilot plan for a small number of household businesses (say 500 – 1,000) to have a proof of concept and learning environment for eventual scaling
- Organize for funding to satisfy requirements of banks and insurance providers
- Coordinate with input suppliers, service providers and product markets
This scheme on a digital platform, puts the super-organization resulting from the association of the multiple stakeholders into a potent force in economic development in much of the world, whereby financial inclusion, household livelihood improvement and food security, and eventual scaling of the project into millions of smallholders are all achieved.
